hi all,

I'd like to get some opinions.
The Detritus site is constantly being added to a little at a time,
but i feel like i can now say i'm working on "Version 1.1". There's several semi-big things i want to add, but i have limited time
and i'm uncertain which things would be most useful. Here's some of what
i;m thinking:

-An Archive of email i've been collecting for years having to do with
appropriation and such. Every time i see anything relevant, i just save
the mail to a folder called "plunder". I think it'd be cool to webify that and make it searchable.

-A Legal Resource area - lawyers and other people or groups that would be
helpful in copyright/trademark infringement situations. Also, a
collection of 'cease and desist' letters just for fun, perhaps with
an analysis of each(?).

-In the Projects section: Online audio collage/collaboration - A set of
pages and scripts that would allow users to upload their own source
material and then enter some instructions on how it will be collaged
together. This is the biggest job of all and whenever i start it i will
have to do it in stages, getting more and more complex with time.
Maybe it will eventually spread into other media besides sound, too.

-In the Contact section: web-based forum/conference area. Would this be
cool, would it inspire more discussion than a mailing list? I dunno.

-Examples of work by artists mentioned on the Rhizome page. sound files
of some of the audio artists, jpgs of visual art. What would be
the best soundfile format? i tend to err on the hi bandwidth/hi
quality/streaming side (like shockwave or realaudio), but that limits who
can hear...


Those are most of the major things in my mental hopper. Let me know
which you think are most appealing/important. And please reply to the
list.
