i'm working on a project called "payments to the creator" in which i want to
find ways how cashflows from consumers to creators can be provided in the
future. at the moment there is a copyright law (at least in the so called
western countries) that is in behalf of companies and not of artists or consumers.
like in the free art license or the gpl "free" art or software is not
supposed to be for free. that is why i want to try to find new ways of distribution
but this is all far ahead because i'm at the very beginning of my work. at
the moment i want to figure out what are the individual (opportunity) costs of
downloading movies in terms of time, risk, having incomplete versions, etc.
for this reason i'm trying to download movies in the internet to have a clue
what i'm talking/working about.
downloading music was pretty easy but downloading movies seems a bit harder.
with kazaa i had real problems because most of the downloads failed and if
they work it lasts for at least 2 days.
i don't think that all the billions of movie files that newspapers are
writing about are downloaded in this way.

can anybody provide me hints how i can improve in this illegal part of my
work?

best
c.
