[Rumori] selling PTB shows

spoke too soon.

The new general manager pitched the idea of WRUW getting all the money from
us selling our show (re-imbursing us at cost, which is all we ask for) to
executive staff this week. Cool idea, as we just want the shows available
to whoever wants them, and if WRUW can make money from it, then that's fine
too. We were never looking to make money off this for ourselves.

However, our friend Jassen Tawil once again brought up copyright issues...
suggesting WRUW selling our show would be breaking U.S. copyright law,
because the contents of our show are greatly appropriated. Also said it's
breaking FCC regulations (same bullshit line as last time, citing a
regulation that is 25 years old, and pertained to universities having to
destroy VIDEO recordings of documentaries taped off television after 45 days.)

Therefore WRUW could get sued, or even CWRU... so the whole notion is shot
down.

See, copyright suddenly became an issue again! Since no one in the exec
staff is a legal expert, they are taking Jassen's word for it....asking us
to not sell any until this is further looked into. They want legal
counsel's word that selling these shows is "legal."

The GM is now contacting yet another lawyer from CWRU's legal
counsel....which means this could be tabled for at least another 6 months
to a year (when ANOTHER general manager will take over.)

We can still accept trades, though.

Didn't someone say the quote "no one cares about sampling anymore. Everyone
is cool with it these days!" Can't remember who that was.
