My friend Vicki Bennett, who does music under the name People Like Us, met me at the station. We went rigtht over to the Hayward Gallery, which was 2 buildings away from Waterloo Satation. There was a huge sound art exhibit there called Sonic Boom. Very cool stuff including things by Christian Marclay, John Oswald, Panasonic, etc. By utter luck there also happened to be a performance there that we stumbled into, with Martin Tetreault, a canadian experimental turntablist. he did a great sort of anti-dj set, very noisy. Vicki and I then had dinner with her friend Joe Banks, who does stuff under the name Disinformation. Very smart chap, and funny. We went to an italian place in Charing Cross. By that time it was getting late and we had to catch the train out to where vicki lives, in a little town called Lewes. A quaint and beautiful little town about 7 miles from Brighton (the biggest seaside resort/party town in england). Now we are there in Brighton, to see the sea and get fish and chips and meet some friends of hers. In fact, we are late, so i must cut this short. Hopefully i will have time once more to report in before Monday, when i will fly back home. hope you're all well. cheerio, smh Steev Hise, At Large steevATdetritus.net detritus.net/steev
