hi all,
The Detritus involvement with the Distorted Barbie case has
increased further with the hosting of a mailing list,
barbieqATdetritus.net. Since the interests of the list coincide in
many ways with that of you all on this list, i thot i would mention it.
To get on the list just send mail to
majordomoATdetritus.net
with su*scribe barbieq <yr email>
in the body of the message (replace the * with a b - sorry, majordomo
bounces messages with that word in it!!)

Below is a sampling of the discussion already going on. There are
about 10 people on the list already and 3 or 4 of them are among those who
have been attacked by Mattel lawyers about their Barbie content.

best wishes,

smh

Good Luck with your attorney, Mark! I hope this works out for you. I
haven't yet located one. There are NO ATTORNEYS at all where I live,
much less ones that specialize in issues such as this...... I do
understand, however, what these attorneys are saying.... Now that I've
had an opportunity to read the Actual Law that was cited, I'm convinced
that my Site was never in violation - and believe I could prove my case!

- It would be so easy to just (officially) capitulate & go on my way.... The name is not really integral to my concept..... In fact, in light of
all I've recently learned, my mannequin would probably be much better
off by losing "that name", along with all of its attending emotional and cultural baggage!

There are, however, much larger issues at stake here, besides the fate
of my puny little website.... And these are the things that seemed to
have grabbed onto me and will not let go, no matter how much I try....

The events of the past couple of weeks have been extraordinary - to say
the least!

I feel as though I've been snatched onto a train....... and that train
is called: "Barbie"....... I've no idea where its leading....... But I do know that its gaining "momentum"......
HANG IN THERE, EVERYONE!!!
