Just this morning I heard a television report about this site (I know that
at the very least Amy Alexander is already aware of it) which claims to
posess "proprietary plagiarism detection algorithms". (That quote is only
four words long, and is therefore apparently acceptable. They allegedly
only search for phrases over eight words long.) So, I guess they won't
allow anyone else to search for plagiarism in the same way they do. Is that
a shame or what?

I wonder about those "algorithms". Do they exempt phrases within quotation
marks? And I wonder if and to what other uses they might be applicable.
