I remember a few Luther Blisset "apparitions" that may or may not be
related to the group in Bologna.

One day, a few years ago, I was watching the news on Rai 1, the main
national channel.
There was a sort of anti-racism march in Torino (which is not exactly near
Bologna!) and there were thousands of people in the streets... when a
journalist approached a young guy to ask what was happening, he replied
something like "I am Luthr Blissett and I'm here to fight racism".

Also, another curious episode: I read various comic books and sometimes I
got to conventions for comic book collectors... 2 or 3 years ago I was in
Lucca with my best friend and we noticed these weird photocopied flyers on
the walls...
You know, there is a character called Jamie Madrox, aka "Multiple Man" in
the X-Men comics published by Marvel. actually I think this charachter was
in X-Factor (one of the X-Men titles).
The authors of that "manifesto" were asking Marvel Italia to rename
Multiple Man. They took a pic of the Jamie Madrox charachter and added a
balloon saying things like "From now on, my name will be Luther Blissett!".
Pretty weird.

Curiously, looks like it was the same prankster (who should have been a
huge comic fan) claming (a year later or so) to have stolen a precious
piece of Alex Ross original art from another comic convention.
After this piece of painted comic art disappeared, someone wrote letters to
Marvel Italia not just to confess the theft but also to inform that art
belongs to the people; so, that work of art would have been made into
several tiny pieces and sent out to different, randomly picked addresses of
ordinary people.

As I say - all these things may or may not be related to the Bologna
group... but (even if the Alex Ross comic page was really stolen) I have to
inform you all that some of the biggest comic book distributors and
publishers in Italy, including Marvel Italia, were located in Bologna at
the time of these facts. ;D
