I have to admit I'm uneasy with outlaw collage artists playing the license
game. Fair use should protect us from even having to think twice about
seeking licenses, much less actually going 2 years through the Corporate BS
mill. License seeking can backfire badly, resulting in infringement
lawsuit. (no footnotes, not from me, but I know it has happened. In
student film soundtracks. Student filmmakers are well-advised to not even
try.)
