Er, that's just what I've heard ;^)

I think the MTV set is generally hip to what they do and their place in the
media. That is to say that I believe the MTV programmers are perfectly
self-aware, but like many hipster groups and whatnot - it's just a clique
and they could care less about the crap they sell as long as they can sell
it.

Personally I think it would be pretty fun to start an image-oriented pop
band, taking into consideration where we stand on the pop spectrum right
now. If I had an infinite amount of money that's what I'd do. I'd send MTV
really bizarre music videos to really bizarre pop songs that exhaggerate
and
recombine the images and trends we see coming from them.
