I can't recall the aritst's name right now, so maybe this will spark memory
in some of the listmembers. I know of one artist who did work with extremely
large basketball hoops. He also did installations with some of the smaller
forms of the hoops where he had youth from the local inner city come in to
the gallery and play basketball all day. Later, there was a jazz ensemble
introduced to the installation, and as far as I remember, they interpretted
the movement of sound from the basketball games into improv jazz in an
adjacent room. This didn't really have a theme of leisure however, as the
focus was these how games represented more than just people playing around;
it was their strategy and survival in life.

And then, of course, you have the unstoppable "Jock Jams" compilation
series.
