>Hey, it also reminds me of "Chartsweep". Anybody heard that?
>the first few seconds of every #1 hit, starting in the 50s.

compiled by the great hugo keesing, who is very very hard to track down. I
got my copy of 'chartsweep' from gunderson. steev, you should really put
chartsweep up at detritus, I just wish we had a better copy!

the piece really hits it's stride in the seventies, all the hits just have
the most brilliant transitions in and out of each other, incredible
symphonic flow taking you through pure hit pop culture, such incredible
fun. when it gets into the 80's, the music gets so incredibly horrible and
the transitions sound more like simple mechanical-pause-button splices, not
crossfades, like he's just 'oh fuck I can't believe I started this there's
still ten more years to get through no no no'.

if anyone has a high quality copy of it, digitize it and send it to me or
steev, it's an amazing piece

also, thanks mr. blacklock for your overview. when you're listening to the
good bootlegs, it's nice. but now with the total saturation, I can imagine
it's getting to be a bit of a drag.

I will also share what the other person in the office said once he heard
the bootlegs: 'wow, totally brilliant, and so simple! you could make so
much MONEY in like no time flat doing this kind of thing!' the
conversation ended there.
