        Legally, "shit" is considered indecent, not obscene.
        Indecent language can only legally be broadcast
        between 10 PM and 6 AM (the so called safe harbor).

        Deep pocket broadcasters are known to flaunt
        this law to appear hip, cool, edgy and are willing
        to pay the FCC fine. They consider it a marketing
        expense.

        So, just because you hear the word "shit" on
        the radio during non-safe harbor hours doesn't
        mean it is allowed on TV or radio.
