Don't shut up. Good points. Everything experienced IS real, but you know
the term "sheltered" and how it applies to the child in Kansas City. I think that is a very DIFFERENT reality than what is experienced by the
Brazilian child.

Neither is less real, but one is difinitely more worldly. What we are
discussing is America's movement toward greater abstraction of daily life.
There is a certain level of abstraction in (from French Toast Cereal to the
Web) that is not present in the Brazilian child's world. Has anyone read
"Ocean of Sound?" David Toop talks about disconnection in modern, western society in terms of music (cage to eno to sinatra to merzbow)
