much like many people sample intact pop music phrases to make more pop
music, or sample classic dance music to make a referent-laden new piece of
dance music, wall's just sampling 20th century classical/concert music to
make more 20th century classical, the form and structures and pacing are
identical. It's often nice, but in many ways it just seems to stay in
place. For me, anyway.

If the new one gets into sampling the mego/m plateau crowd, then sounds to
me he's already caught up to present time... super ok

just for subjectively triangulating my tastes so's you all can write them
off real fast, I'm really feeling grateful about the existence of the new
Lesser album. That is something to get excited about.

"...there is much opportunism in the air as people
try to charge money for things that were previously free. It's a great
scheme: instead of creating new goods and services, simply charge people
for existing materials -- whether or not those materials are actually the
stuff of culture, society, history, humanity, etc."
