BUT... consider these amusing angles relating to this ownership business:

would be kind of amusing if they actually went to the point of suing
someone for including their track on a CD that Warner didn't put out,
especially if it were something so obviously wacked that Warner would never
put it out on their own. Of course, remember that in they end they just
want the money, so they'll never sue unless you somehow make money off the
track. But better yet...

ownership to? Then you have the amusing quandry that Warner would be suing
for ownership of a track with samples that they haven't cleared, so if they
actually won the suit, they'd be obliged to settle with the copyright
owners for clearance. An even better scenario would be if you could somehow
get those other copyright owners to just go sue Warner anyway without you
being directly involved. If that ever got to court, it sure would be amusing...
My advice: submit a track with samples of other stuff that they'll
never get clearance for (make sure Warner doesn't already own them!). Even
if it somehow gets big, they'll probably not want to pursue ownership of
it. Or, of course, just don't submit your track if you're still worried.
