interesting side note:
The guy "chaosmachine" that discovered the aphex twin
"windowlicker" images, has a page about software he wrote
called "audioplotter" (which analyzes note frequencies and makes
images) and how he used it to discover an image in a track on
Aphex Twin's "Drukqs": http://chaos.yerbox.org/kesson/
Now, see down at the bottom of the page - he's paranoid about
releasing the code to this software, because of what happened to
Dmitri Skylarov vs. Adobe. Logically I don't see what he's
worried about at all, his software analzyes sound, it doesn't
decrypt or crack anything that's copy-protected, so the DMCA
couldn't possibly apply. However, this is a perfect example of
how the DMCA is having far-reaching, chilling effects on
innovation and creativity.
