wow. looks super. really cute and great ahead-of-its-time ideas
about recycling. i wonder why it never made it over the
atlantic. not even to public television.

the wombles motto: 'Make Good Use of Bad Rubbish'. wow. i can see
how it may have been a big influence, vicki. :-) is their official website.

The Wombles remind me of the sort of remotely simliar Fraggle
Rock which was an american (jim henderson?) production shown on
HBO in the 80s. Fraggles dont look anything like wombles, but i'm
still reminded. and there was a garbage connection there too: a
character that was a big pile of trash, I think its name was just
"Rubbish Pile" or something, and he functioned as a sort of
Delphic oracle to the Fraggles. he was always my favorite part
of that show.
