[rumori] IAO scientia est potentia (knowledge is power)

Sorry for the interruption, everyone.

This may be offtopic, but at the same time it may not be.

Convicted felon John Poindexter has been put in charge of developing a
system that will invade your life in a myriad of ways.

http://www.darpa.mil/iao/index.htm

The Total Information Awareness system uses data mining technology to
track individual's purchases, location, email, and every other action
you take that leaves an electronic paper trail.

I don't know about you, but I'm not too comfortable having an
Iran-Contra alumni and convicted felon heading up the creation of the
panopticon with no congressional oversite, and no checks and balances of
any kind. Not to mention the logo for the dept makes me feel like I fell
asleep in the year 1985 and woke up in a comic book set in the year
2002. It's almost like they are trying to fullfill the crazed warnings
of every conspiracy theorist who ever read _behold a pale horse_ with
these freemasonry images and orwellian plans. Please give allof us who
live in the real world a break, Poindexter.

A while back, I wondered when people were going to begin waking up. I
thought that maybe when we were neck deep in Civil War II, World War
III, Vietnam II cubed, Watergate IV, George Orwell's 1984 in 2002, and
9/11 everyday then maybe people would finally snap out of it.

Anyway, does everyone remember Jam Echelon Day, and how much fun that
was?
